How To Be Kind This World Kindness Day

Today, Cubby Care is proud to celebrate an important day that’s very close to our hearts and all that we value. It’s World Kindness Day!

World Kindness Day was introduced to the World in 1998. The purpose of World Kindness Day is what we advocate for with our children, and within ourselves, every day at Cubby Care. It’s about looking beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; beyond all our differences. World Kindness Day is about realising we are citizens of the world. It is about understanding that everyone deserves kindness, and that kindness is the most loving and powerful currency.

World Kindness Day is a special day at Cubby Care, because it allows us to celebrate the values we already hold very close. We want to share that with others. This World Kindness Day, we encourage Cubby Care kids, and everyone else, to partake in random acts of kindness.

Here are 5 easy ways that you and your kids can pay it forward and make someone feel appreciated this World Kindness Day:

  1. Volunteer
  2. Donate old or unwanted clothing
  3. Donate to a charity or a cause you care about
  4. Pay for the meal of the person after you in a restaurant or cafe
  5. Smile at a stranger
  6. Compliment someone

At Cubby Care, we believe in making kindness the norm, and not the expectation. For us, kindness means treating children, families and our carers with love and respect. We believe that acts of kindness have lasting impact and we ensure that children are given every opportunity to experience this. We believe that children have limitless potential, and we want them to feel encouraged and inspired every day that they are under our care.

There’s a reason Cubby Care is the kindest kind of kindy. It’s because we emphatically believe in the power of kindness and love. We believe that acts of kindness have the power to change the way we think and feel, and to make others happy. So, this World Kindness Day, and every day, we encourage you to remember to be kind. You never know – you might make someone’s day!
