What’s Happening This Month At Cubby Care Early Learning

What’s happening this month at our Cubby Care Early Learning Centres? Let’s find out.

7-14th July – NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week gives us a chance to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities but by Australians from all walks of life.

Throughout the week Cubby Care will be offering children a range of activities to educate and support the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is VOICE. TREATY. TRUTH.

It acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australia’s democracy. The theme promotes that we all work together for a shared future.

19th July – National Pyjama Day

Get cosy and wear your favourite pair of PJ’s to Kindy! National Pyjama Day is an initiative of The Pyjama Foundation to raise awareness and funds for children in foster care.

Participating centres: Browns Plains, Loganholme, Mooroobool & Bairnsdale.

24th July – Stress Down Day

Stress Down Day is a fun and easy initiative to get involved in. On the day, children are encouraged to participate in stress reducing, fun activities such as wearing slippers to Kindy, or dressing up or down.

The day is designed to reduce stress and raise vital funds for Lifeline Australia. As research shows that 90% of Australians need to stress less.

30th July – International Day of Friendship

International Day of Friendship was established in the hopes that fostering friendship between different peoples, cultures, and countries will inspire peace throughout the world.

The United Nations explains that through friendship we can ‘make fundamental changes that are urgently needed to achieve lasting stability, weave a safety net that will protect us all, and generate passion for a better world where all are united for the greater good.’

On this day, express gratitude and enjoy playing with your friends!
